blog post #1

i wonder what might happen if i start blogging.

apparently, according to knowledge, the word “blog” is short for “weblog,” a word that frightens me given both my arachnophobia and xylophobia. nonetheless, tonight, i promise to face my fears and write words on the page. surely, this form of growth will be award-winning. my trophy, made of pyrite, will sit atop the microwave, which juts out from cabinetry, laughing at gravity.

while i’m tired of being cute, i will persevere and advocate for the mundane, which, sometimes, reveals truths. a trip to port stanley offered me lovely experiences (alongside the drudgery of movement) including the following overheard snippet from my son to a family friend: “well, which one do you want?”

o, young socrates! please steer clear of hemlock and continue to guide those around you towards reflection sans narcissism.

it’s nice to watch growth while growing, a flower turning sunward.
